I've had great luck with the Linksys 802.11B wifi router in both business and home applications for both Mac and Windows and mixed networks, connected to T3's, T1's, and Cable Modems. I'm at a friend's house now with a Mac Powerbook and he's got the same linksys router. Mac connected to it on power up without any reconfiguration (DHCP = automatic address assignment)... I'll have to talk to him about leaving his wifi wide open although the nearest house here is at least 500 yards away...
Have fun.. it's a fun technology to work with even for beginners.
