I usually dump some snow into the street. Two reasons, the local plows visit frequently, and one of the snowblowers I use is an old Toro 200, which does not have a chute to carefully direct the snow. So some of the snow goes out in the street.
Locally there are laws which do not permit dumping snow in the street. My big gripe is when snowplows clear out a drive, and leave a foot of packed snow across the road.
