Would you consider a car with a salvage title?

I'm looking for a car for my youngest son. He deosn't want a Saab, because that would be too much like the old man. (Unless, that is, I would let him drive the Viggen, in which case a Saab would be OK.)
I'm looking at hatchback Integras, because he needs to haul an upright bass to orchestra rehearsals.
So, for about the same money, I could buy a 1997 model with 120,000 miles and only the bumper cover repainted, or a 2001 model with a salvage title, on which the driver's side door and fender and the bumper cover have been replaced, with 72,000 miles.
The paint work is not perfect (rarely ever is), but the car seems to drive and stop straight. I would have my trusted mechanics do a pre-purchase inspection.
What do you think?
Thanks!
Dave
