I personally avoid wireless networks like the plague due to security concerns (not to mention performance and reliability problems). There really is currently no effective way to secure them, a kid in a clapped-out ricer by your curbside can crack into your WEP or WPA protected network in minutes with a laptop and easily-obtainable software. (Unless you are using a RADIUS server, which is unlikely in a home or small office scenario.)
You simply cannot beat the security, speed, and stability of a traditional wired network. I just ran CAT5E cabling wherever I wanted to be able to hook in, and it works great.
