that's kind of an extreme response. Sort of over-analyzing the whole process.
I have a couple of gas Webers and am fine with the taste of the food. The grilles are well-seasoned and seem fine. I do want to get a regular Weber kettle, though, and use wood in it, not charcoal, as the flavor from oak or maple is really great. Is really great for a good steak!
HOWEVER, IMHO both gas and charcoal/wood grilles release smoke and stuff into the air. The gas seems to release it only while you're cooking, so that may be cleaner, but I dunno, it seems as if it's a pretty teensy contribution to the whole picture of "greenhouse gas," considering all the other point sources. Use whatever works for you and the food you're cooking. Have a beer and enjoy.
