My old one is a smaller, 2-burner unit, the other, given to me used by a friend, is a 3-burner. The separation from N to S is better on the 3 burner if you turn off the center burner. But I find the medium setting on the 2-burner generally does a good job.
I have no idea of the relative "greeness" of any grille, though. A small 2-burner would seem greener than a larger 3 burner, especially when you add in the side burner option that's on many grilles these days.
