You can buy a bike for how you think and hope you're going to ride or you can buy a bike for how you'll actually ride--that's the important thing when buying a bike. I spent a lot of years hunched over on a mountain bike but the reality was that I rarely went off road and never really did any of the things I saw myself doing on it. The latest bike I bought is basically a cruiser with a comfy seat, sit up nice and tall handle bars and nice fat tires that are great on rough city streets or sand. Because that's the kind of riding I actually do and have done so consistantly for 30 years. Ride what you have and see how it goes. If you find yourself doing 50 miles sprints on a regular basis THEN get a bike. Odds are you'll have a much better idea of what you want and whether or not you'll stick with it. The best bike in the world is worthless if it just sits in the garage collecting dust.
