If you ask for 1.5" tires at 100 PSI, there's a reason they will look at you funny. Those tires will ride like a brick, and the bike will be a torture chamber, particularly on dirt roads and trails. I don't know if you're talking about a suspended mountain bike, but I doubt that's what Noel wants. 100 PSI is probably the maximum inflation, which is different than the recommended inflation. I have lots of bikes with various tires I run at different pressures. I have 32mm road tires (narrower than 1.5") which I run at 65 and they ride great. 23mm tires I run at 110.
