Thanks for the recommendation, I see Rock Auto still sells them. I haven’t seen them elsewhere except for Amazon, which seems to be a source for just about any brand. I think one of us may have to be the test case for using them in the salt belt. Moisture alone doesn’t seem to corrode rotors anywhere near as much as the salt used on the roads. Not only is rock salt used but also some sort of salt solution that is sprayed on the roads. No doubt these salt applications prevent icing down to a certain temperature, but they also corrode cars in many places you can’t easily see. I can usually tell if a car has been exposed to road salts just from looking at photos in ads. The rotors come off the cars rusted on the hub and edges, but the back of the rotor you can’t see is usually worse. The 9-5 calipers and caliper brackets rust badly from the salt but that cast metal holds up well although it looks bad. But I usually give the calipers and brackets a good going over with an wire brush wheel on an electric drill to remove some of the rust, especially on the sliding surfaces.
