I had that happen on a highway here in MA. I'm in the left lane with the flow and a statie comes up my A$$ and hits the lights. I was pissed cause I thought he was pulling me over when I was the 4th car back in a line. Everyone gets out of his way and he goes WOT. I got out behind him and just laid into it in 5th gear. Something made me brave and I was right behind him up to 90. He was pulling me but I was pleased to be able to stay with the police interceptor crown vic. A little voice came on in my head and made me slow down. He did the same thing that you described, lights on, lights off just to beat traffic. I like how we pay these people to police us! And we don't even have a choice about it. "Please sir, pull me over and write me a ticket so that I can pay your salary to pull me over again next week." Sounds like you had the ultimate revenge. Good work.
