NO! Its a badge only given to cops or family members who belong to the FOP. A real badge not some silly sticker for people who give money to the FOP unless we are talking thousands of dollars. The badge attaches to the license plate. If seen by other officers they will usually do one of three things (1) pull you over and tell you where the speed traps are (2) just run your plates to ensure that the car is not stolen (3)if pulled over they will just tell you to slow down. No tickets given. Don't take just my word ask your brother-in-law. Cops don't give other cops tickets or their families unless it's a Motor Transit Authority (MTA) cop. MTA cops will even pull over cops in their cop cars and give them tickets. Think of the FOP badge as like free legal advice from your law firm. Its just a perk of the job. Now it makes sense doesn't it.
