I stand by my words. I just re read your statements. " I don't pay speeding tickets" Well then who should, just everyone else? That bottle of booze would constitute a bribe anywhere in this country, and you should know that. Plea bargaining is done in the judicial setting with both partys present and with an agreement stating the terms becoming a part of the public record. Does your offer of a bottle of booze get written up?
How much over the limit would Your tickets have to be before you would admit that you did something wrong and should be penalized just like everyone else? Or can they just be plea bargained away?
Suggest you re read your statement, and then ask your self if this is what the law is about.
By the way, regarding your statement about NH, 1980,etc, you are blowing smoke. Radar was fully admissable back then, and if you think that NH is a liberal state, you must be smoking something pretty good! Have you ever been here?
Even though the precedent for admissability is there, you can still challenge and question the police on their procedures of operation, locations weather and visibilty conditions, etc. By the way, the mass of a reflected object DOES still matter, unless you have changed the laws of physics. The density of the material that reflects a radar signal can most definitely affect it's signal strength at the recieiver, and if an officer is questiones about two or more similar sized vehicles traveling on a road in the same direction, and the officer states that he absolutely could tell which one was going a mere two miles per hour faster than the other, I would be asking him to explain just how his training allowed him to do so.
Tickets have been dismissed for technicalities far smaller than the ones I mentioned. An officer who did not get properly trained or tested in the ooperation of a radar unit could have his or her testimony deemed less reliable than a motorist who carefully laid out his defense in court.
Bottom line for me is I still think you used very poor judgenent in describing how you would go about trying to fight a ticket.
