There were several preventable problems she should have picked up on as an experienced and attentive driver, she didn't and got a ticket. Now she has to pay for it. This is not just for you, but for everyone else who drives.
First of all, on the interstate, police almost always hang out near exits and onramps. They go back and forth and wait for new cars to follow on their stretch of highway. She should have been more observant for police near onramps and exits. It's quite frequent for me to be driving along on the interstate and have a police car sneak up behind from an onramp. If you're just getting onto the interstate, you must look around for a while and drive conservatively until you are aquainted to all the cars around you, for safety sake, not just for avoiding tickets.
Second, everyone was going 50ish in a 60 zone. Unless there was some sort of rush hour problem, this often happens when a pack of cars is slowed down by the presence of police. Obviously if there were space for her to pass and most people weren't there is a good reason.
Third, a quality radar detector would have come in handy 9 times out of 10 in a sitution like this. Unless you're in Canada or the two states that don't permit them, habitually speeding and not having a detector means someone is naive about what sort of trouble they can get into. I used to be naive like that when I didn't drive much. For a while I had a cheap radio shack one that beeped randomly and I ignored it once and got pulled over. The same day I ordered a V1. It helps me stay out of trouble and I've been pulled over only once and that was because of instant-on with me the only person on the road.
I think an A4 is a pretty blend-in car unless it's red or something. She should pay it and take more steps to put luck on her side in the future, and pay more attention in certain parts of the interstate. She could also cry or show some leg or cleavage in the future if she thinks that would help.
