Hi,
I was the first one to request fully synthetic at the dealership.
I'm not a big DIY person, and I was having them rotate the tires too.
The mechanic first thought that it was one of the standard 10K interval
services and told me that Saab would ONLY pay for the semi-synthetic oil.
Then, when I told him that I am paying for it, he said "For 2002 9-5,
semi-synthetic is enough".
When I persisted, he had no problems with giving me an oil change with
fully synthetic but told me that it would cost extra.
Just ask your service advisor. No mechanic worth his salt would dispute
the fact that fully synthetic oil protects better than semi-synthetic oil.
thanks
Jae
