Of that group, you're probably nuts not to pick the TL. Partly for the obvious quality, and partly because Acura is known for pretty outstanding dealer service, which would be refreshing after your recent experiences..
The MB C-class has matured into a really appealing car, no doupt, but it's going to be replaced in a short while, so if you're concerned at all with your new ride being not-the-newest-look on the block, then consider that. It's probably the one I'd pick, though.
What about a certified BMW 3 or 5 series? I love my 2002 325it wagon.. it's been pretty much trouble free and with the depreciation hit, they compare nicely to the new cars you're thinking of. -Just a curve ball idea..
The last one I'd pick is the CTS, just because the interior is so junky AND it's about to be updated with a really nice dash, so that would be a bummer. Second to last would be the Passat because they're already getting nightmare consumer review for bad engineering.. then there's the lousy VW service to contend with. Wild card is the Chrysler. It's neat looking and blurs rapper style with classic American upper middle class style. I like it but know nothing about the ownership experience with a modern Chrysler.
Got to compliment you on comparing apples to eggplants. Some people just compare obvious cars to each other. It's an interesting range of options you've picked.
Best of luck to you!
