a bit on injectors sizes & pressures? Posted by jak [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Bigger injectors VS. higher pressure FPR, Roy, Wed, 17 Jan 2007 22:33:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the stock injectors at 3barfp are 21 lb at 3,5bar mabey 23lb
so it dosent at all = 30 or 34 lb
adding 7PSI to the line pressure adds about 2BHP per cylinder of fuel
the 30lb injectors are actually about 30% more then the stock ones at 3barfp
the other thing to take into acount is the line pressure under boost which in the case of a 3barfpr is heald 3bar above manifold pressure
3bar is 43PSI so at 20PSI boost you are running 65PSI in the rail
getting the rail pressure above 70PSI isent a good idea as you are basically deadheading the fuel pump you begin to trade pressure for flow & this can lead to fuel starvation too
if you are planning on getting your car above 15 lbs of boost constant buy some injectors :-)
it is the corect way to go about it
take care
