I put the HKS GT2540 (about the same size to GT28RS) turbo in my previous ‘94CSE since ’99 before I sold it in ’04 and went for ‘98CSE, more than 100K miles driven on the turbo with stock ‘anything’ except the 3”DP & K&N drop-in. No problem at all! Like Jak said, stock T5 system dumps fuel ridiculously. My GT2540 ran 12.0-12.5 A/F never more on many dynos through those years. If I were Roy, I would just give a shot for the car on dyno, and if anything went swell. I would just enjoy driving it. I could not see any point why the engine would break down within 3 months if the A/F okay. 5 years & 100K miles were a good proof and it’s not just tell tale.
