Aside from the higher compression ratio, and obvious volume differences, I don't know exactly what differences there are between the turbo and naturally aspirated engines. However, the turbocharged engines can easily handle 150hp increases without internal modifications, mostly by adding boost and fuel which, like I said, isn't much different than a nitrous shot. I would think that a 50hp nitrous kit, assuming you weren't using it terribly often, would be acceptable. On the other hand, is there anything preventing you from seeking a model, comparable to yours, with a turbocharger? There isn't much difference in price at the age of these vehicles, and you could effectively get the power your looking for without having to worry about how long your engine can handle it.
