I'm not nearly as tuned out as you are, but some of the set-up is similar, including the APC box (I use Stage II from SPG9, which I assume is what you have from Group 6)

My suggestions: Spark plugs and/or spark plug wires. I only run Bougicords, but they made all the difference when I swapped on a new set. I use the NGK 7evs, too.

My timing is set to 15 BTDC, with a stock diaphragm (to be swapped out very soon). I think it should be taken back to about 20 for super boosters, but no more. 27 degrees is too much, IMHO.

What boost levels were you running before? I am currently experiencing blow-by from the turbo on the intake side, which is oiling up all of the plumbing. Boost goes from 22 psi when all clean inside to 15 - 16 psi oiled up. Have you checked your intake pipes, intercooler, etc. for large amounts of oil? If so, we're in the same boat. Are you running on a stock turbo? If I recall, that car had a ton of miles when you got it. Does the car blow big smoke out of the back sometimes?

My ride:
88 SPG

Mitsubishi Turbo from 91 SPG, base boost set to 10 psi
Stage II APC
Modified BPC Solenoid
Homemade Ram Air w/ open element K&N conical filter
Stock IC (from 91 turbo)
89 Turbo plumbing
20 psi bypass valve
30#/hr injectors
3.0 FPR (fixed)
bypassed fuel cutoff
Coolant line throttle body bypass
modified stock exhaust
stock advance/retard diaphragm, timing set to 15 BTDC
stock pistons, rods, head, cams
"stock" wires and hoses
stock clutch (though very new)

The turbo is being replaced this week. I hope this helps, and I hope you can figure it out.
