N/A vs. Turbo...(long)

I have a 1995 900 SE V6 and I love it! I am sooooooo
tired of people saying that this engine is sub-par. I
think that this engine has great low-end torque and has
incredible potential. Doesn't GM manufacture this engine?
Isn't this the same company that made the incredible engines
that went into the Corvette, Monte Carlo SS, Nova, etc.?
I remember a time when American made motors were thought
to be the cream of the crop!! Just the sound of nicely
tuned American V6 or V8 is music to my ears! A 4 cylinder
turbo just doesn't sound the same. Anyone agree?
Personally, I haven't done anything to my engine besides
dropping in a K&N filter and slappin' on a cat-back sports
exhaust, and it feels and sounds great!!
I know that a huge amount of power can be extracted from
this engine, but there aren't enough aftermarket companies
(Abbottracing, Swedishdynamics, TrentSaab,etc.)that are
willing to develop performance products for this sleeper!
I believe that with the proper tuning the V6 would
outperform Saabs' own 4 cylinder turbo.
I read in an earlier post that Saab purposefully downplayed
the power of this engine by quoting in the owners manual
170 hp, where in reality it's probably closer to 185-190
stock. I don't know if there's any truth to this, but...
Anyone with an opinion, whether you agree or not please
respond.
