What kind of air fuel meter were you using?

Many types are very blind at those levels. Many AF meters are useful in showing that you are lean and are used to guide things back to rich on boost.

I see that you are up to speed on these issues. I do posts with other readers in mind, and like to address issues in some depth.

So what of your intake mods?

As for the acuracy of MBC's. You are refering to the overshoots when getting on boost and the pressure droops at higher CFM's. The overshoot is a problem, especially when dancing with fuel cuts. But note that with the BCP, people often, with the T5's, refer to how the boost peaks and then quickly settles down. That is also a pressure spike, but with a stock T5 system something that one wants. As for the pressure droop at higher CFM's, that is caused in part by the location of the pressure tap used for the MBC and is a totally expected and predicable behaviour. That is not the fault of the MBC, but of its configuration. The same MBC with a manifold pressure tap would provide a much better result, but would be much more spikey at boost onset. So there is no idea situation... yet.

To address the MBC spike, the wastegate setting can probably be adjusted to be softer that the stock setting. This will allow the actuator to open faster which will reduce the spike for any given MBC setting. Someday I may get around to trying that.
