brad & others what do you think? Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Sat, 20 Sep 2003 10:27:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have the 219WHP 235WTQ 85 SPG
I feel exhaust restriction is the mojority of my current limitation
what I want to do to start is run a ford SVO/Tbird swingate housing (have you seen one?) huge improvment but will require batery relocation & than Ill fab a 3 inch DP & run 3 inch pipe from there back (with a muffler)
do you think this alone will reduce ex manifold pressures much or should I replace the turbine housing when I do this other stuff because the swingate & pipe alone wont do much
I figure the swingate & pipe will greatly improve spool up & the .63 turbine housing causes lag so I may loose 200rpm of boost from the bottom with al this stuff (just a guess)
the other thing is that I have a full 9Kfmic setup here I made the pipes for a friends car a while back & he did the install & now I own the car
what kind of HP have you gotten with the 91- IC even in a 9K? do you think this is too restrictive & that I shouldent waste my time & use a better flowing IC
I definatly feel like geting rid of exhaust better will cool combustion chamber temps
on the dyno I got a lil audible ping at the end of the 3rd pull(heat soak)
running a better Ic Im sure will help quite a bit too
I guess what my goal is to get mabey a lil more HP & actualy run a lil less boost
of I did it rite there should be a pic of the 3 pulls
I did actualy run the car 2 times & got like 211HP on the first 3 I kicked the timing back a tad & this was the 2nd 3 pulls
take care
& thanks
