The "cobra" pipe from the AMM to Turbo inlet is a problem on upgraded cars. There are two varieties, Aero/Viggen and the others. The original Aero piece will support roughly 300hp. The others… far less. The extra flow helps with boost response. This is the vacuum side of the turbo compressor so we cannot simply blow more air through it. The same does not apply for the pressure side of the plumbing. The plastic pipe from the Intercooler to the throttle has been proven to support 340hp without significant pressure or flow loss. This side is under pressure so we need to achieve certain airspeed for proper flow. The problem with upgrading hardware is that the corresponding flow maps in T7 need to match the actual airmass. The most critical being the method that T7 reacts to transient flow by reading the map sensors instead of the AMM on the pressure side. So it is important that the software tuner has maps for that car and pretty close to that hardware or the desired output will be lower than with stock hardware! This info is from my own dyno adventures and also backed up by a highly regarded Saab tuner. Basically you have to deal with an experienced company that has the knowledge and honesty to get you the right setup to make the car perform like you want not just sell as many parts as possible…
