By using a manual boost controller set at 12 PSI you remove the engines ability to reduce boost when knocking. Reason for limp home might be an overboost situation if it's not because of leaning out.
I sincerely suggest you turn down the boost controller and get some proper software instead. It'll give you a nice fat power boost with good fuel/air ratios, ignition settings and allow Trionic to reduce boost if it detects knocking.
