Oil Leak Still not Solved HELP! Posted by PlanMan [Email] (#1391) [Profile/Gallery] (more from PlanMan) on Fri, 7 Feb 2014 11:29:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi, SAAB SC 2009 2.0
After having valves replaced in NOV 2013, oil started disappearing. Brought car back to shop. Looked inside manifold with camera (small amount of oil detected) Repaired incorrectly installed valve cover. 1 month later oil disappears again! Bring car back into shop and no oil found in manifold However, Vacuum pump determined to be leaking oil. Replace vacuum pump. 3 weeks later (today) low on oil AGAIN!. I have been taking measurements each morning before I start the car. It comes out to around a quart of oil loss every 700 miles. There is no smoke coming from the exhaust and no oil on garage floor. Since this started back in November, I added no less than 9 quarts of oil!! I have put about 6,000 miles on the car since this started. The car runs completely fine...WHAT UP? Is the catalytic converter that good in eating smoke and oil? Is there a PCV valve I can check like on my old 9-3 gen1? any help? thanks!
