I don't know enough about the V6 engine and have not seen enough problems so I can't say for sure.
The only odd things I have heard about and maybe have one customer with the same problem is valve seats coming loose.
Another shop was chasing a misfire problem and finally when problem became permanent found that a valve seat was loose and the rocker arm laying on its side inside valve train.
I have been chasing an intermittent misfire problem on a V6 for awhile and came to the conclusion that it might be something similar but until the cylinder head is off, we won't know for sure.
Here is a post from earlier about a similar problem.
My guess would be that since the rocker a teeter toter arm squeezed in between the spring, cam lobe and the hydraulic lifter, if a valve seat drops down not allowing the valve and spring to move back up, it is a chance that the rocker fall out of its position.
It is possible with other problems too like low oil pressure so you should get it checked as soon as possible.
