I have checked the seal and it looks OK, fortunately I have a heated garage and detailed Haynes manual but still don't relish the fact I may need to replace it, hope it lasts til spring.
Roger - I read you posts about your recent replacement and if needed will spring for the OEM Saab part. I only have 144K miles on the car and it has been remarkably free of any major issues. So I am hoping to get another 100K or so before moving on. My only other concern for the past six months is having mostly static on the AM band of the radio, just noticed the rubber antenna covering is failing and that may be the problem.
