with a used one from 2006 cleared the gearbox error but now a CEL prevents the car from starting. It cranks fine but not start.
Does the TCM need to be married to the ECM via Tech2 etc ... ?
Originally gearbox malfunction prevented the car from starting.
I experienced hesitation on a couple of occasion before the Gearbox malfunction error.
No coolant in the ATF.
Jumping Relay 8 gives a crank and no start.
Checked the spark plugs (look fine) and they are the right type.
I checked each ignition coil with a Ohmeter: same resistance between 4 pins for all modules.
There is a fuel at the rail - so fuel pump should be ok.
Jump starting it with a charger did not help. Battery read 13.4Volt.
Disconnected the battery overnight did not help.
So I assume the CEL (iconique picture of the motor on Left) hides some codes as to the underlying issues.
Unfortunately local GM dealer does not service saab so I will look into an alternative (op-com).
My next move is to get a new battery.
Any suggestion on how to clear the ECM (fuse #18 ?). Its 2005 aero 4 cylinders 2.0L automatic.
