Ross - I too have owned Audi ('00 A4 2.8 Avant) and I agree completely with your list, and, all things considered, I am much happier driving the Saab. Everything (but one) you listed is a complete pain to me about the Saab, and has been since my first 9000 in '86. I modify the wiring myself to take care of these silly weaknesses in the wiring harness design and I consider them to be really stupid. What's amazing to me is that it would cost almost nothing at all to correct these shortcomings, but Saab has done nothing about them for 15 years.!
One thing I think you are incorrect about, however: on the 9-5 you don't have to have the key in the ignition to work the power seats - BUT YOU DO have to have the corresponding door open! I don't know why they decided to do it this way, but you can move the driver's seat with the ignition off IF the driver's door is open. This is an improvement from the 9000, and enables a tall husband to get in the car when it was last driven by a short wife without being a contortionist.
However this is still not adequate because in order to lay down the rear seat with the rear seat head rest in place you have to move the front seat forward (you can then bring the front seat back again), but you can't do this maneuver from the rear - you have to walk around the open rear door and open the front door so that you can move the seat back. I much prefer to wire the seat motors to the +30 (always on) line.
I turn the wiring around on the front window switches (this is very easy, takes about 10 minutes using 2 straightened out paper clips as tools). That way I get at least 1-touch close to eliminate the toll both juggle, and I also wire the windows and the sun roof to the +30 so they are always available. This doesn't solve the 1-touch roof or the lack of a remote capability on the windows, but it makes for a major improvement and a much more civilized car.
