Gary: CH Tay writes below this about the key/remote, and he is correct. If you use the fob,or the push buttons on the new style key to lock the car,you MUST use them to unlock it, or the alarm will go off. Quite frankly,that makes me wonder why they even have a key in the first place,but I just had to do this with my car tonight, and when it happened,I called down to GA to ask, and sure enough,it's true. In the old style separate key and fob, the transponder that the car senses to activate the ignition is powered and is in the key fob, not the base of the key. In the new style unit, it is all integrated. All in all,A lousy design,but one more reason to develop the smart card to totally replace the key in cars.
