Bill sounds like the different programming modes might be affecting the different functions. As I wrote to Gary G, on mine,I have a one push unolcks everything format. On all three of my keys(two are ioold style separate key and fob,one is new style integrated key),when I lock the car by using the pushbutton on the fob/key, and then attempt to unlock by using the key, my alarm goes off.
I called the Norcross HQ to have this confirmed. When I call Norcross,I'm not speaking with just anyone. I'm starting at the top. This is the way it works. It sounds to me like there is a possibility that the functions of the alarm might be changing depending on the American /European locking system selected(meaning one push or two to unlock everything.I'm going to get this answered this weekend, one way or another. If your dealer told you that your car can not be set to have one single push of the button unlock all four doors, he is absolutely wrong. No ifs ands or buts. What I am now wondering is if the alarm operation is being affected by this, because I had my car set up for one push unlocking about two days after I took delivery, and have never had the opportunity to try unlocking a locked car with the key until tonight, and that's when I found out that the alarm went off. Will keep you posted on this.
