That was my point about certification. The real hook in Hirsch's parts bin is the performance, and those are the components that require certificatin, and would represent the maximum cost to both Saab, and it's potential customers. Now that Saab has "Hirsch Like" seats in the Aero, they are not goingto sell seat upgrade kits here in any significant quantity.A few Aero owners will probably want to upgrade theirs, but again, the numbers are tiny.Wood and interior accents are not going to be worth the money to modify a car.Accessories add nothing to the residual value, and in some cases, detract from it.Personally,I think that a top end model with all the bells and whistles already installed is the best way to go as far as the US market is concerned, but how many super Aeros saab could sell, versus the cost of certifying and supporting them is the bigger issue. The US market is Saab's largest, and right now,SUVs are dominating the sales landscape in this country. Coming out with a super performance sedan or wagon might be the equivalent to answering the question that is not being asked. this is not my personal wish, but I think it is symptomatic of the US market. Until we are awakened to the issue of fuel consumption, chances are a car like this will not turn many heads here.
