"Pistons, bores and bearings need time to obtain uniform, wear resistant surfaces.
If a new engine is driven too hard, this gradual process of bedding-in will not be possible and the life of the engine will be shortened.
During the first 1200 miles (2000 km), do not exceed 5000 rpm.
In addition, refrain from driving the car at full throttle, other than for brief instances, during the first 1800 miles (3000 km)."
I think this info is a little lax. They should add that you should ensure the engine is warmed up before pushing it hard, and to allow the turbo a little cool-down time by driving the car easily (no or low boost) for a mile or so, or by letting it idle for a minute, before shutting the engine off. These things aren't required, but they will make your engine live longer. Being aware of the stresses on your drivetrain, and taking steps to minimize their harmful effects, is only common sense.
