I realize that it would have to go on it's side..but I don't know the measurement of the car or the dryer from where I'm sitting.
Anyway, I agree about 30yr old dryers, I had mine stripped down to nothing but the empty metal cabinet. They are such simple but effective machines,at least the old ones are. However ive gone through 2 sets of thermostat/thermal limit switches and am reluctant to go for the 3rd at 27.00 per set...still can't find the root of the problem. For 100 bucks I can get a late model one locally from the Clist that might be more efficient and reliable. Would rather fix it if I was sure of the problem but don't want to keep throwing parts at it.
