I put Akebonos on last spring [in year ago] and the wheels look clean without any effort at all to clean them. When you install them, clean the the wheels as you go... for the last time.

I am not aware of any increase in braking effort VS the performance pads I was using. Those who complain about that must be getting weak. But I am only 63 and should not be critical.
