does using cruise uphill save fuel? I would have thought easing off up a hill would save more gas than trying to maintain constant speed. Ie lose a little speed approaching the crest + then regain it on the other side (from gravity, ie without applying more gas)...
I don't actually ever use cruise, so I don't know. Just something I've wondered. In-laws always use cruise + have great fuel economy numbers in a Civic. I drive very differently though (and still get reasonable highway mpg for the 9-5)... I like to pass quickly + drive in open space (more fun + safer)... sticking to one speed for long periods would drive me nuts...
