Real easy answer - the 2.3 Aero turbo wins.
The Aero has 250bhp and more torque too and the V6 just 200bhp - the Aero will put a smile on you face every day you drive it and the engine will do 200k no problems. The 4 pot 2.3 has balancer shafts - so at anything other than idle it is as smooth as a 6.
As for the tranny - the 5spd manual is good - and the Aero mated to an Auto just fantastic. You will read a lot on this board Auto vs. Manual - all I'll say is try the Auto Aero - it re-writes most peoples view of what an Auto box should be like - and you'll still leave 95% of everything on the road for dust. Period. If you get an 03 spec Auto you'll get paddles on the well to shift in 'Manual' mode as well as the neck-snapping sport selection............ -
