Doing a head gasket on a Saab isn't that hard, but I wouldn't want to do that job more often that necessary. I would seriously take a head (either head) to a machine shop, have them get the studs out, replace the valve stem seals, check the valve guides and seats and R&R if necessary. That's somewhere between $50 and $200 worth of work, but when you put it back together you'll have a good-as-new cylinder head to go another 200,000 miles with. It's money you don't *have* to spend, but there is some nice reassurance knowing that everything is going to work perfectly and for a long time when you put it back together.
