I keep it in neutral for a few reasons. First, less wear on the clutch throwout bearing - which more or less only wears when the pedal is depressed.
But an even better reason is that if something in the clutch hydraulic system were to fail, you could unexpectedly get propelled into the intersection! I actually had it happen on my 9000 when the hose between the master and slave burst. Luckily the engine stalled - things would have been interesting if it hadn't since there was heavy cross traffic going ~50 MPH.
