I guess I represent the dissenting opinion, but I always shift into 1st gear and get ready for the light too change. Interesting theories, but in over 40 yrs of driving, I've never experienced premature failure of throw out bearings or failure of transmissions due oil starvation (or failure for any other reason). Now too be honest, I put it in neutral if the wait time is excessive. Just my opinion, I guess we all have are habits.
