If you keep your clutch in, there's no oil being flung to the oil-catchers, and once they drain, no lubrication! Even on a cold start, you usually don't start driving immediately, so you don't have load on the transmission for the period of time that the catchers are empty. That applies to just about every manual transmission ever made.
