In addition to the timing chain pad, I would pull the distributor at the same time and put a new O ring on the stem to seal the housing.
The first time I look inside, I do a measurement on the timing chain tensioner. It's a bit tricky, you have to be really careful and make sure you don't lose the rachet setting when pulling it out so you can get a good measurement. I think the process is in Bentley. A deep socket that grabs the tensioner is very helpful, you might have to take off the AC compressor bracket though, can't recall.
