The pic shows how I fixed mine.
The aluminum sections are Volvo AC tubing cut from a salvage car. These AC lines have the "O-Ring Pilot Threads" fitting* that mates with the Saab oil cooler. I flared the other end of the Al pipes using the flaring tool shown. This standard flare allowed me to use the brass fittings to convert to hose barbs. I cut the stock oil cooler hoses to length and double clamped them on the barbed fittings. I reused the original nut to hold the Al lines to the cooler. (Slide the nut on the line BEFORE flaring the other end.) New O-rings of course.
The copper bands are sleeves that extend under the brass nuts. The AC line OD is slightly undersized for the brass nut ID. Next time I'll use a larger diameter AC line.

The aluminum "bead" formed into that pipe compresses the O-ring to provide the seal. The nut provides the mechanical connection. See page 45 of this PDF. Two versions: male and female threads for the capture nut.
