Yes, I put in a completely rebuilt motor that I removed from a failed restoration project I had. It was ready to go, so it was easier than rebuilding. While I was in there I threw in a new rack, new axles, new shocks, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, rotors and pads. Had a new clutch, and everything else that goes in between the motor and trans.... and it was all connected to a rebuilt transmission! The whole shebang went in as one. The whole setup had maybe five miles on it. It now has just under 2000 on the entire drivetrain, other than the two rear wheel bearings, which are fine. The 90 SPG has a new lease on life! I also had a '93 Aero/five speed in Imola red.... beautiful car. 93K on the clock. Bought it from the original female owner. Very fast. Smooth acceleration, beautiful interior. The letters, "TCS" prevent me from having any other kind words about that car. I'll leave it at that. To have Jordan Pagano do a T5 swap for me on the SPG, (because I hate wiring/ECU, and electronic remapping) would probably set me back $1200 once I acquired all the necessary components. As I said, my car easily reaches 145 MPH, with a bit more on tap. How fast do I need to go? I'm there. The street can be a dangerous place. Distracted drivers, animals, mechanical failures, lack of safety equipment, no helmet, no cage, etc. Yeah, I'm tapping out at 150 MPH in a narrow, old, short wheelbase car with less than astounding high speed handling and a tranny that will NOT handle any of that nonsense. Opinions may vary, but I'm staying pat. Maybe an LS /6 speed/rear wheel drive swap?? :) Nah, I'm done.. Cheers, Bob
