Frosty low pressure a/c line Posted by Rose Quartz 87 [Email] (#2119) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rose Quartz 87) on Thu, 7 Mar 2024 11:03:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So I've successfully installed a new a/c system ready for the summer, but after following Townsends guide for amounts of oil and refrigerant, (1.2pounds/((19oz)) of refrigerant and 8oz of ester), I'm getting some ice/frost buildup on the outside of the low pressure line.
Vent temps are down to 38 degrees, at 63 degrees ambient and 70% humidity.
Static pressures at ambient are at 60psi on both high and low. Running pressures are at 30psi on the low side and 150psi on the high side at idle in the above ambient conditions. (Four seasons refurbished compressor).
With the above info, am I undercharged, over charged or is it ok for some frost build up on that line at this temp and humidity?
Thanks for reading.
