A/c belt tensioner bracket bent/crooked? Posted by Rose Quartz 87 [Email] (#2119) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rose Quartz 87) on Sat, 13 Apr 2024 18:38:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm getting some side to side movement on the a/c compressor belt.
It's tensioned correctly, but appears that the pulley is off kilter, (pointing inwards towards the engine slightly). Pulley itself is new, replaced since the bearing was noisy on the old one. (Oddly enough, it sounded like a loose timing chain hitting the valve cover).
Does the bracket bend easily? If so, do I need a new bracket or is this correctable?
It's the stand alone bracket, not the later style that's connected to the PS pump.
Any help with this one would be much appreciated. I'm stumped as to how to get this pulley straight.
