I'm a bit confused... Posted by Jake [Email] (#225) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jake) on Tue, 7 Nov 2000 17:08:22 In Reply to: Re: Front Motor Mount Question.., JohnK, Tue, 7 Nov 2000 15:33:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My transmission is having a hard time going into third and fifth, so this is why I suspect the mount. Yet I bought a "front motor mount" today, and I got a motor mount that looks identical to the side mounts, and the guy behind the counter told me that this mount actually goes in the rear of the engine bay (engine is in backwards, hence the "front" motor mount). Yet you all described how to replace the transmission mount, located between the clutch cover and the radiator. Question for you. Which one of these two mounts should I replace to hopefully improve shifting? I have heard that people get improved shifting after they replace their front motor mount, but which mount are they talking about? the one back by the belts, or the one up by the radiator? Oh, and if it is the one back by the belts, what exactly entails replacing that one?
Thanks so much,
Jake
