Hi Sam. I went from Michelin Pilot Primacys (195/65) to BFG gforces (205/60)
on my 96 CS. I had 25K miles on the Primacys and they were acceptable at 35 psi and rotten at 38 psi on the I5 freeway. The gforce tires at 35 psi are very stable well beyond 3300 rpm in 4th. I think you have too much air in your tires, and your shocks are shot.
I'm installing Bilstein HDs on my car real soon now(have the parts here) and have used them on two Mercedes cars with great success. I would recommend the Bilsteins and tell you not to bother with springs.
