Car's fixed. I looked into fixing the existing hose but ended up buying a new OE saab hose locally.
I did try partstrain, had to call directly as was getting messages on my shipping address. They said they had the hose in stock but later that day got an email saying it was out of stock. I was wondering if "OES Genuine" was really OE anyway.
I ended up not removing the battery & tray. I could get my head between the battery & front of the car and see underneath it. What I did do was loosen the white plastic bracket under the dash that was connected to a wire harness and had a couple of relays on it (2 torx screws). This allowed me to pull the metal part of the hose far enough back into the passenger compartment to get it out. I also removed the clutch master cylinder as the fitting & line were very close to the carpet and this gave room to get the fitting out of the master cylinder. Put new hose in, had to fiddle with it a little but easier to get in than remove the old one but I now had an idea how to move it to get it in. Reattached plastic bracket, put master cylinder back in, then bleed with Power motive bleeder.
Thanks again for the info as it helped immensely.
