I think it's @ 6k rpm. I wanted to see at what speed the limiter kicked in on my car '93 Aero (Has lower final ratio than 94-up) as when accelerating quickly I end up watching what is ahead of me & not the dash. It was around 35-40 mph 1st gear, 70-75 mph in 2nd gear, it didn't kick in 3rd gear so I wonder if it related to the circuit that limits torque in 1st & 2nd to save transmission. You want to try to avoid shifting quickly between 1st & 2nd or you will wear synchro out & it will get harder to shift, ask me how I know, you can also read about it on the board as others have posted about it. I peeled of 1/2 my clutch disk when I hit rev limiter/cutoff right as I shifted in my '93 CSE once. The broken piece was wedged between the remaining piece & the flywheel so my clutch was always engaged. I was able to get home since only 2 stop lights in 80 miles (mostly hwy) using 2nd & 4th gear, it is extremely difficult to shift a 9000 w/o a clutch.
